Stanley Fat Max tape measurer Dec 29, 2009 Bought this for my brother for Christmas. He works construction and demonstrated how far out the tape measure can be extended without bending. We were all amazed. He was very pleased with this gift!! Very prompt delivery. I would recommend this product and this vendor.

Pretty good tape measure Oct 22, 2009 I am not a contractor or professional builder, have always done my own remodeling and basic wood working projects. After I retired we decided to build a large home that would be our dream home and a source of income as a Bed and Breakfast. I knew this project would take 12-18 months and I already had most of the needed tools. Several months into the job and seveal tapes later I was looking for a durable tape, my biggest issue is the wind blowing the tape as I tried to stretch it out for a measurement. Building alone, I became very frustrated as most tapes were blown over/away from the intended anchor point. Despite the size, it really fits the bill and has helped the frustration meter go way down. I only gave it 4 vs 5 stars as occasionally the tab on the end slips off the end of the board as you pull out to length. Thanks Amazon for good prices and quick, fair shipping with Prime.

Good tape measure, but too hard to lock Dec 17, 2008 This is really solidly built, and I think the standout works pretty much as advertised unless you have unrealistic expectations. But pushing down the lock button requires far too much effort - sometimes I push really hard and think it's locked down but then the tape suddenly reels back in because I didn't get the lock button down far enough. Maybe it loosens up over time. I sure hope so.

What blade armor Nov 21, 2007 It has a clear sticker on the first 4 inches of the tape, this must be the blade armor. Also they say 11 feet out straight maybe if you count the 30 degree arc. Not sure if it's worth the $$ but we'll see.

Best tape available Nov 04, 2007 This is the best tape measure available, in my opinion. I use mine every day, and they seem to last about 6-8 months. The key is to be careful when you're reeling the tape back in... kinks and burs can develope easily if you let it in to fast, take your time and it will extend the life of the tape somewhat.
