Hitachi reciprocating saw is excellent Feb 01, 2010 This is an excellent product. It has a great grip and is easy to handle. Has a nice balanced weight to it

Hitachi 18v lithium ion Aug 26, 2009 Absolutely the best tool for the money. I considered all brands, but I am glad I made the Hitachi choice. I had a dead white pine in my yard that was about 30 feet tall. With 1 battery I was able to cut it down to about a 7 foot stub. Unbelievable that such a small battery could deliver so much power.
I aslo own the Hammer Drill that came with reciprocating saw. This is a great tool as well.
Highly reccomend, you will not be sorry. I also own the Dewalt 36v hammerdrill and 7 1/4 circular saw. The saw is great but very heavy. I never used the drill because the Hitachi is good. The only negative is the Hitachi tool color and design look very junivelle, however they clearly make up for it with quality.

Hitachi CR18DLP4 18-volt Reciprocating saw Jun 25, 2009 This saw performs wonderfully. I found the handle (trigger) and, for lack of a better term, the forearm, to be comfortable and makes for good control during use. Not real impressed with the blade that came with the saw, but I think that's to be expected.
I would recommend the saw for quality and the seller for price.

Hitachi Power Jun 01, 2009 A little bit on the heavy side but it feels very good in your hands. It is very powerful, I have tried it on some medium density metals and it passed through like butter
It was poorly packaged by the seller but no issue with the tool. The lithium batteries (I have a pair from my drill) are a big plus (light and outlast any NiCd or NiMh
battery)
Overall a very solid purchase at a decent price

The multi-purpose tool May 30, 2009 All I can say is that this particular tool has come in REAL handy in the month that I've owned it. From cutting through wood with nails (deck expansion) to cutting off LARGE branches from a tree(s) that fell in my yard after a storm (and onto my car!), this tool has been used extensively.
The battery life of the 3 amp hour lithium ion battery is amazing! The durability of the saw is impressive in that most of the environments I've used it in have been dirty and wet, yet the saw works like it did when it was new. Only it's transformer looks now have blended in with the dirt.
I actually like the looks of the drill in that conveys that the tool can wreck some damage! Or just plain cut a lot of stuff up without having to worry about running out of juice.
