Excellent drill bit for tiles Nov 30, 2009 I've used this drill bit to drill holes in my porcelain bathroom tiles to install different fixtures for towels, etc. I could not get through the porcelain tile with my regular bit nor the masonry drill bit (both were relatively new and still sharp). With this bit, it felt almost too easy - I drilled about 10 holes in about 5 minutes. It was almost like cutting through butter.
One issue is that I ran into a metal post behind the tile while drilling my last hole and the bit got immediately ruined. However, $5 or so price tag is still worth it in my opinion. Just get a few of these for a big job.
